I have been totally thrown off my feet this past year with a diverse and challenging set of transitions. – and I’m not sure that I am through with them yet! The year started with us having to make some decisions about what to let go of and hold onto. We made a considerable move towards downsizing, which was both a painful and exhilarating process. Why?
Because it forced me to focus on what really matters. As a Life Transitions Coach, I am constantly asking clients to reflect on questions surrounding this issue, and here I was facing them myself! There is one question that is really powerful, however, no matter what the circumstances. It empowers you to let go, hold on and keep going. It gives you strength to face adversity, get up and move on, made adjustments and put yourself in a positive place of possibility and opportunity. It makes you laugh, cry, be moved and feel humble and appreciative of even the littlest things.
In one word, it has to do with GRATITUDE – what are you grateful for? And if you truly dig deep down to search for the answer to that question, you will be really surprised, because it is the essence of the simple things that moves us to be truly thankful. Such things as health, friends and family, connection, spiritual nourishment, and the best of all – LOVE – are the things that really matter…
I have been struck by the tragedies happening on the East coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. So many of the people there have lost everything. Yet, over and over again, you hear each of them say, “we survived and have each other, and for that we are so grateful”. There is much to be admired and used as an example of the value of that way of positive thinking.
Do you know that according to recent studies, only 34% of Americans say that they are truly happy? Why is that? There are other equally sobering details that will help you to realize how much you do have, and to concentrate on the positive aspects of your life, instead of being in a “lacking” mode Here is a link to a website that is my gift to you on this occasion of “giving thanks”:

It will help you to make that “Gratitude List” and discover new ways to be grateful – even for the little things. As a “Possibility Agent, I can help you to focus not just on what is, but what can be. Together we will go on a “gratitude journey” that will uncover all kinds of wondrous things to appreciate and celebrate.
In the meantime, have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
In love and gratitude,
Ingrid
